(November 19, 2025, Shenzhen) At the "2025 GGII Annual Conference", one of the most influential annual events in the lithium battery industry, Wu Zhongyou, Head of Beijing Enpower Research Institute, was invited to deliver a keynote speech, sharing insights into cutting-edge solid-state battery technology, industry trends, and Enpower's achievements in technological innovation. During the conference, the company was awarded the "GGII Golden Globes - Market Expansion of the Year" for its innovative achievements in customer expansion and product delivery.

The theme of this year's GGII Annual Conference is "A Turbulent Fifteen Years, Looking Towards a New Journey". It brings together well-known entrepreneurs and industry experts from the entire industry chain, including battery manufacturing, materials research and development, equipment technology, and battery terminal applications, to jointly explore future industry directions and core technology paths.

Illuminate industries with ideas, lead the future with technology

In his keynote speech, Wu Zhongyou, on the theme of "The Industrialization Path and Practice of All-Solid-State Batteries," introduced that: "Enpower has focused on the research and development of sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries for over eight years, simultaneously advancing the technological development and industrialization of semi-solid-state and all-solid-state batteries. Against the backdrop of accelerated electrification across industries, emerging markets such as eVTOL and robotics have placed urgent demands on batteries for higher energy density, higher safety, faster charging, wider operating temperature range, and lower costs. All-solid-state batteries, with their inherent safety, high energy density, fast charging capability, long cycle life, and wide temperature range performance, are considered by the industry to be a breakthrough in current technologies."

Among various technological routes, sulfide solid-state electrolytes have become the mainstream choice for companies such as Enpower, Toyota, and CATL due to their high ionic conductivity and good processability. It is projected that 2027 will be the "first year of vehicle integration" for sulfide all-solid-state batteries.2027 will be the "first year" for the widespread adoption of sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries in vehicles.

However, the commercialization of all-solid-state batteries still faces three core challenges: In terms of materials, sulfide electrolytes are sensitive to air and water, and their stability needs improvement; in terms of interfaces, solid-solid contact resistance is high, and traditional methods require high pressure, limiting the system's energy density; and in terms of manufacturing processes, more than half of the production equipment needs to be redesigned, and the manufacturing precision requirements are extremely high. Enpower is actively addressing these challenges through interface engineering and process innovation, developing controllable particle size technology and in-situ self-filling processes to achieve uniform interface contact under zero external pressure; We have successfully fabricated sulfide electrolyte membranes with a thickness of 20–60 μm and an ionic conductivity >4.5 mS/cm; and launched Ah-level all-solid-state soft-pack cells with an energy density of 350–400 Wh/kg, supporting 10C fast charging, more than 1000 cycles, and wide temperature range operation of -40–100℃. The relevant products were verified in cooperation with SoftBank in 2024.

Regarding industrialization, Enpower has established a clear development roadmap: in 2026, it will launch 1–20 Ah all-solid-state battery cells for high-end non-automotive markets such as robots and drones; in 2027, it will expand to electric motorcycles and small electric vehicles; and by 2030, it aims to achieve mass production and installation of automotive-grade all-solid-state batteries in vehicles.

The company has built a complete production capacity system: the Beijing Daxing base (0.3 GWh) focuses on batteries for drones and robots and has shipped more than 2 million cells; the Anhui base (Phase I 2GWh) is basically completed and will be put into production soon; the Nanjing base has a 100 MWh all-solid-state pilot line and plans to achieve small-scale production in 2026. and the Nanjing base is setting up a 100 MWh all-solid-state pilot production line, with plans to achieve small-scale production in 2026. It is expected that by 2030, the total production capacity will reach over 20 GWh for semi-solid-state batteries and 5 GWh for all-solid-state batteries.

In terms of market expansion, Enpower is adopting a gradual transition strategy from semi-solid-state to all-solid-state batteries. It has already entered the supply chains of leading international customers such as SoftBank and has established partnerships with numerous global companies in the drone, electric motorcycle, and robotics industries. By integrating upstream lithium mining resources, key materials, and a closed-loop recycling system, the company is building a collaborative industrial ecosystem, providing a solid practical foundation for the industrialization of next-generation high-safety, high-energy-density batteries.
